Copeland - On The Safest Ledge (Official Music Video)
So, Copeland withdrawal has finally hit pretty hard. I've been listening to the album this is from (You Are My Sunshine) for the past few days. I'm a big fan of this video. I don't think it was every officially released, but it was on the bonus DVD for the YAMS box set.
Anyway, some lyrics so you can sing along. :)
Don't look ahead, just run to me
Each step will find the next one recklessly
We'll find ourselves on the safest ledge
Well pardon me, I couldn't help myself
Girl, fall into your life here
If only for a while, I'm here
Could you be happy to fall like a stone
If you'd land right here safe in my arms?
It's fine, lock all your doors through the night
Keep it all right here, safe in my arms
It's fine, it's fine
You felt alone before you ever really knew how alone you were
An empty house, a lonely room
The TV talks the fear right out of you
But you feel like someone's standing by but you'll never know
Could you be happy to fall like a stone
If you'd land right here safe in my arms?
It's fine, lock all your doors through the night
Keep it all right here, safe in my arms
It's fine
The sun burns a hole straight through your old flaws
If you look toward the sky even on your greyest night
Could you be happy now, with the wind in your hair
And your eyes open wide and your feet going nowhere?
Could you be happy to fall like a stone
If you'd land right here safe in my arms?
It's fine, lock all your doors through the night
Keep it all right here, safe in my arms
It's fine
I read that Aaron Marsh really wanted to be a little bit more...vague with his lyrics on this album (and also on Eat, Sleep, Repeat as well). Which I like...it allows each listener to really be able to "own" each song.
I'm happy to be where I am, and I hope you are too.
Anyway, I've been tearing through Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series...letting my inner geek rejoice in some nice fantasy reading...which is not my usual preferred genre. And by tearing through, I mean I'm almost done with book 2. But I've managed to knock it out in about 2 week. I've picked up a book recommended to by a friend to blog about on here, but I'm currently a little devoted to this series. So Alex, if you're reading, I'll get to your book pick eventually! Promise!
It is officially summer in Texas according to me. When you break out in a sweat just by walking out your front door at 8 am, it's time to consider a summer house in Alaska. Or maybe sleeping in one of those big freezers people keep in their garages.
Nate and I finally signed up for Netflix (the one good use for his XBox as far as I'm concerned...) and have become hooked on Dexter. I think we're about halfway through Season 1. I'm a big fan so far. I really like Dexter...even if he is a serial killer. Oh well. And True Blood started last night....loved the books, not as in love with the TV show. Sookie was much more likeable in the books. Nevertheless, Alan Ball has done a great job bringing the books to life. And Alexander Skarsgard does a great job looking gorgeous. So I'll watch. :)
Just checking in...it's always nice to babble to myself sense I'm probably the only one who reads this.
Goodnight self,
Bran

In regards to the best show on Earth...
And I don't mean the circus, kids.
It's time for a little LOST talk.
I was really pleased that last night's episode was a little bit slower paced. It gave my poor head a chance to recover from last week! But, we still got a ton of info last night. I think.
I was very impressed with Josh Holloway's (Sawyer) acting last night, but I'm a little bit worried for him. I don't know how I feel about him living in Dharmaville by himself, and I'm not sure how the story will progress if he stays there. So I'm guessing that he doesn't. And I totally didn't cry when he threw Juliet's engagement ring into the ocean. I just had some smoke monster barrier dust in my eyes.
I'm pretty confused about what is going on with Sayid. I guess I was totally wrong about Jacob taking over his body. Maybe Jacob is trying to but the Locke-ness monster beat him to it and "claimed" Sayid's body.
Kudos to Jack for owning up to the fact that others have died or been hurt trying to help him. Glad to see him wearing some big boy pants for once.
I'm really intrigued by the deja-vu-ish looks some of the characters have been showing on their faces. It will be interesting to see how these "sideways" flashes meet up with what's happening on the island.
And Claire!! Ethan was her doctor!! Big WTH moment. I can't believe she trusted Kate as much as she did seeing as how Kate jacked her cab and put a gun to the cabbies head. Odd. I think we'll be seeing that credit card again later too. And why was Claire running around the jungle with really bad hair? The new Rousseau (who apparently has been dead for a while)?
The episode was called "What Kate Does", but I didn't think it was wholly Kate-centric. Though I was disappointed we didn't see any of the "What lies in the shadow of the statue people" or Ben, "Locke" or Richard. Especially after the whole "Good to see you out of those chains, Richard" moment. And I'm getting very excited about a Jin/Sun reunion. I wonder whether they'll have a happy ending though. In their flash sideways, Jin still seems uptight and Sun still seems unhappy. Very excited for next week. I love you Tuesday.
In other news, there is no other news.
I'm in a book funk. The other night I started The Next Queen of Heaven. It's by the guy who wrote Wicked. So far, so good.
I hate to end on a sad note, but I'm pretty bummed about the passing of Phil Harris. If you don't know, he was captain of the Cornelia Marie which was documented on the Discovery Channel. He died last night after suffering a stroke last month.
Alright blog, I will see you on Friday (maybe) for a little Vampire Diaries action. : )
